More mystery

Hiroko and Shigeru were at the workshop and they were reading the letter that just came from Fujii Itsuki. "Hmm, this is an interesting development."

It was clear that Aki did not know who Hiroko was, but Aki was supposed to marry Hiroko two years ago, and he also was supposed to be dead. It just did not make sense. Shigeru considered the possibilities that would make the whole thing more acceptable. "You said that the old house was demolished to make way for a new highway?"

"Yes."

"Then how did your letter reach the destination? Don't tell me this Aki lives beside the highway?"

"I have no idea..." Hiroko was really at a loss now.

"I know, Aki lives on the "safety island" on the expressway!" Shigeru laughed at the top of his voice.

"But seriously, the letter did reach the address, and this address really does exist, or else the postman won't deliver the letter. But even if the address did exist..." Shigeru thought more deeply, "...the postman also won't deliver it if he knew the addressee didn't live there!"

In Japan, the family name of the residence would be displayed by the mail box. "It would mean that there's really a Fujii Itsuki living at this address! That couldn't be..."

Hiroko said, "I still think it's really Aki."

"Oh, come on! I think I would devote my full attention to solving our little puzzle, "declared Shigeru.

After Hiroko got home, she started on another letter.

Dear Aki,

Are you really Fujii Itsuki? Please send some proof because I don't think you're the Aki I'm looking for.

Sincerely, Hiroko
